Geoff & Amanda’s Role

Geoff and Amanda have a heart to sow into the lives of the Kazakh people.  Amanda’s    desire is to serve through hospitality and mentoring. Geoff is passionate about evangelism and discipleship.  William has a flair for children’s ministry.  They began their missionary journey on a short-term trip to Kazakhstan in 2012 and returned home convinced that God was calling them to go back long-term.

They will complete a short-term ministry trip in Mongolia as the culmination of their six month Discipleship Training School, which began in January 2014.  They plan to return to Almaty in Kazakhstan in mid-2014.

Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan, as it was the capital during Soviet rule.  Almaty has a similar population to Adelaide.

Geoff and Amanda will engage in a range of YWAM ministries.  Amanda’s heart has been touched by their anti-trafficking ministry that rescues young girls from prostitution. Geoff will be involved in practical evangelism to university students, using language classes as a means to connect people with Jesus.  William will start year 10 at Tien Shan School.

Together they will continue to open their heart and home to others, relating to local people and helping to train local Christian leaders.

Statement of Purpose

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

YWAM is a diverse, global, Christian youth-focussed movement from many  nations, backgrounds, ages and cultures; sharing their faith through meeting practical, spiritual and physical needs, offering training in more than 800 courses and seminars for service in all spheres of society. YWAM currently operates in over 1000 locations and 149 countries, with over 16,000 staff.
